Reports Corner: Acumatica 2018 R2 New Features

In Acumatica Cloud ERP the functionality and features of generic inquiries and dashboards are continually improved, modified and enhanced through ongoing software updates and enhancements.

In this post of ‘Reports Corner’ our reporting expert, Sue MacKeown, shows the latest updates from release 2018 R2:

1. Pivot table can be used as a filter tab on a generic inquiry form.

Records in a generic inquiry can be filtered in two ways.
• Filtering the inquiry using selected filtering settings, will produce the same inquiry results, but for those selected records only
• A generic inquiry can also be filtered using pivot tables. Here the data can be filtered and grouped in various ways.

A user can share the filters and pivot tables on a generic inquiry with other users. This feature provides a consistent and controlled means in which data is viewed and analysed.

In the example below, the information shown on the generic inquiry is filtered in several ways using filters and pivot tables;

2. Side Panels in generic inquiries view entities of a selected record

This amazing enhancement enables the user to quickly reference additional information on a selected field without having to leave the inquiry screen. An inquiry can have more than one side panel.

In this example, the customer details, the salesperson details and the inventory details relating to each line of the inquiry, can be displayed as a side panel to the inquiry;

Dashboards and reports can also be viewed as a side panel to a generic inquiry providing a quick visual view of data relating to the selected entity of the inquiry;

The goal of these updates and enhancements is to provide increasingly efficient and flexible ways in which information can be accessed and presented, all of which are applicable to individual businesses, functions and roles.
