The Ubiquitous GI

In Acumatica the GI (Generic Inquiry) is found everywhere.  It powers all data queries, it is the background for dashboards, it presents on the mobile application, it is the base for notifications and automations.

And now it is key to the AI Assistant,

The GI is a tool that allows users to design and create their own queries.  Unlike many other systems where queries are preset or require customisation, since the beginning of Acumatica, the GI has always been there and it is one of the standout features of Acumatica.

The AI assistant uses GI’s for its data source.  Besides the built in Generic Inquiries, user created GI’s can also be accessed by AI.  As long as the description of the GI is clear as well as the column headings, then the AI assistant will make effective use of them in answering questions.

AI is limited by the information available to it.  This is the drawback of many AI applications in ERP systems. Not so with Acumatica where the trusted GI helps provide the data contexts that users need.
