At Tascoli, we’re thrilled to see Acumatica 2024 R1 now generally available. This release is all about delivering industry-specific solutions across key verticals — in other words, helping you run your business smarter, faster and with greater agility.
Customer and Industry Focus
Acumatica continues to draw on real-user and partner feedback when shaping its product. The result is vertical-tailored editions for construction, distribution, manufacturing and retail that address the distinct needs of each sector. As an example, one of Acumatica’s customers, Portacool, turned to the platform when their legacy system began hampering growth; the solution brought improved inventory management, smoother workflows and integration with critical third-party applications.
Highlights by Industry
Manufacturing: With raw-material costs, supply-chain disruption and labour shortages all still very real, this release offers enhancements such as improved material-demand planning (including optional stock and non-stock kit components), the ability for employees to report parallel operations, and optimised MRP generation with planning-horizon settings.
Construction, Projects & Services: Industry headwinds—high interest rates, inflation, labour and material shortages—remain a challenge. Acumatica 2024 R1 supports these sectors with refined workflows such as a pro forma-invoice side panel for vendor payments, negative expense-receipt support for refunds, one-click invoice correction from service documents, and more flexible budget-updates.
Distribution: Distributors face many of the same pressures as manufacturers. This release adds new tools including time-phased purchase orders, warehouse-transfer recommendations, a Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) application with exception-management for kit-components, enhanced small-parcel and LTL shipping workflows (including hazardous-materials and serialized-container support) and improved return-material authorisation search capabilities.
Retail & Commerce: Even amid economic volatility, consumer spending remains resilient. Deloitte’s report (2024) highlights the importance of loyalty programmes, “omni-experience” and trustworthy AI. With Acumatica acting as a centralised database, the 2024 R1 release enables unified connection between Acumatica and Amazon (order-fulfilment, product availability, fees, taxes), direct import of exchanges from Shopify POS, and bidirectional sync with Shopify and BigCommerce via the Commerce connector.
Why This Matters
For us at Tascoli, and for our clients, the significance is clear: Acumatica 2024 R1 moves beyond general improvements to deliver vertical-specific capabilities that enable companies to make decisions based on facts, not intuition. As one customer said of Acumatica: “It’s become the heartbeat of our company…You have to be agile in the market we’re in today, and you have to be ready to make those decisions based on facts—not feelings.”
